Tinubu: In October, Nigerians will pay less for transport

Nigerians would pay less for travel starting in October 2026, according to a pledge made by President Bola Tinubu.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, revealed this in a statement on Saturday.

The National Affordable Compressed Natural Gas, or CNG, Transit Program has been updated.

“I met with the governors of our 36 states on August 27 and we decided on a specific goal. More Nigerians should start to notice quantifiable drops in transit expenses starting on October 1.

“I am aware that the committee, PI-CNG & EV, the States, and other important stakeholders are already working hard to identify priority transport corridors, choose the best solutions, and make the required arrangements.

According to the statement, “the current global energy crisis has made this work even more urgent.”
