AFCON 2027Q: The Super Eagles’ camp is packed as Maduka Okoye finally shows up

Maduka Okoye, the custodian for Udinese of Italy, has finally arrived at the Super Eagles base in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Guinea-Bissau and Madagascar.

Super Eagles media officer Promise Efoghe said Okoye arrived in Uyo early on Friday.

With the arrival of the 25-year-old, head coach Éric Chelle now has access to all 24 invited players.

Before the qualifiers, there were concerns over the former Watford goalkeeper’s absence.

Okoye is now anticipated to miss Friday’s (today’s) matchday one match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo against the Barea of Madagascar.
