Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has announced that construction on the more than $7 billion Gateway Deep Sea Port and Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area will start in November.
Days after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DP World MEA FZE in Paris, France, in front of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Abiodun made the revelation while speaking to All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Ijebu East and Ijebu North Local Government Areas.
According to the governor, the project’s groundbreaking ceremony will take place in November, following which building will start right away. The port is anticipated to be largely finished in two and a half years.
“The groundbreaking will be completed by November, and construction will begin right away. That port will be nearly finished in two and a half years, according to Abiodun.
