Three LGAs are subject to a dusk-to-dawn curfew by the Plateau government due to security concerns.
In response to growing security concerns in Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, and Mangu Local Government Areas, the Plateau State Government has immediately implemented a dusk-to-dawn curfew.
Movement is restricted between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. until further notice under the curfew, which went into effect on Monday, September 21, 2026.
In a statement released on Monday, Joyce Lohya Ramnap, the Commissioner for Information and Communication, announced the decision.
According to her, the measure was put in place to help security agencies stabilise the impacted areas, save lives, and keep law and order intact.
Additionally, security personnel have been instructed to enforce the curfew throughout the impacted areas.
Additionally, the state government immediately outlawed motorbike use in the three local government regions.
Residents were reassured by the administration that the security guards assigned to implement the measures would conduct themselves in a professional manner.
The decision coincides with reports of security incidents in Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, and Mangu, among other areas of Plateau State.
